Syracuse basketball recruiting: Orange offers Michael Porter Jr., No. 2 prospect in Class of 2017

Syracuse has offered Class of 2017 small forward Michael Porter Jr., he announced via Twitter on Monday afternoon. Porter is rated the No. 2 prospect in the class by ESPN.

He attends Father Tolton Catholic (Missouri) High School and stands at 6 feet 9 inches and 190 pounds, per ESPN. He’s received offers from Duke, Kansas and Indiana, among others according to Scout.com. On Sunday night, Porter released his initial list of schools he’s considering, and Syracuse made the cut of 17.

Recently, Porter starred in the fifth-annual Mary Kline Classic alongside lone SU Class of 2016 commit Matthew Moyer.

Monday is the first day that college coaches can directly contact Class of 2017 prospects.
